This program is divided into 4 sections covering all the important aspects of becoming an effective trainer.

Learning Theory: Our Incredible Brains, How do we Learn? Learning Characteristics

Preparing the Training: The Learning Requirement, Learner Characteristics, Practical Constraints, Objective Setting and Content, Practical Application, Structuring the Session, I.N.T.R.O, Development, Communicate with the Learners, Preparing the Venue and Yourself.

Training Delivery: Trainers Nerves, First Impressions, Body Language, Importance of questions, Giving Feedback, Participant Behavior, Visual Aids, Evaluation and Assessment.

Practical Training Sessions and Feedback: The participants have an opportunity to put into practice all that they have learnt (and developed) throughout the last three sessions. Participants gain valuable insight into different methods and styles of colleagues as well as practicing in a ‘safe’ environment.

Day One

  • Explain the importance of delivering training with an appropriate mix of visual, hearing and feeling elements
  • Select the most appropriate method(s) of training.
  • Carry out a simple analysis of learning needs.
  • Develop training sessions using a structure to achieve the learning objective.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure that you, your participants and the venue are prepared for you training sessions

Day Two

  • Deliver training with a balance of trainer and participant activity.
  • Overcome your nerves.
  • Conduct training sessions that encourage the level of learner participation. Ensure that you participants are able to get the most out of your training
  • Make effective use of visual aids
  • Conduct effective evaluations of your training sessions

Day Three

  • Putting the learning into practice by presenting a training topic to the other participants.
  • Provide feedback to learners, which help them to get the most out of practical activities included in your training
  • Self-analyze your training so that you are constantly developing your skills as a trainer
  • Accept constructive feedback about your training so that you are constantly developing your skills as a trainer
